	Jim Rome Every Bit As Annoying With the Sound Off Originally posted 8/22/2005 Above: annoying jackass and "Jim Rome is Burning" host Jim Rome EUGENE, OR - A lunchtime trip to the gym proved to sports fan Josh Stewart, 28, that ESPN television personality Jim Rome is just as annoying with the sound turned off. "I never watch that piece-of-crap show of his," Stewart said of Rome, "but I got stuck on the treadmill at the gym with nothing to read. They had the sound turned off and I couldn't read the closed-captioning, but somehow Rome managed to be every bit as annoying as when you can actually hear what he's saying." Rome, who rose to national fame years ago after being shoved around like a little girl by Saints quarterback Jim Everett to the delight of television viewers everywhere, has an inexplicably highly-rated sports radio show and also hosts "Jim Rome is Burning," which airs weekdays on ESPN at 4:30 pm Eastern, 1:30 pm Pacific. "'Jim Rome is Burning;' what a gay name for a show," Stewart said. "I don't know why they don't just call it 'Rome is Burning.' And I don't know why they have to ruin my lunch hour by giving me Jim Rome's ugly puss on the TV at the gym when I'm trying to work out. I might have to start taking my lunch break an hour later. Wilbon and Kornheiser necessarily any picnic to look at, but at least they aren't as annoying as Rome."
