SPRINGFIELD, NJ - Popular golfer Phil Mickelson finally shed the dubious label of Best Player Never to Win Two Majors this weekend, capturing the 87th PGA Championship at Baltusrol with a dramatic up-and-down for birdie on the 18th hole. "It's a relief to finally have the monkey off my back," said Mickelson, who had been dogged by speculation that, despite his potential, he might never win a second major title.

Mickelson finished at -4 after a final round completed Monday morning due to rain on the course on Sunday. 2005 Masters and British Open champion Tiger Woods, who is widely considered the Best Player Never to Win Eleven Majors, finished at -2.

"Interestingly enough," said CBS golf commentator Jim Nantz, who called Mickelson's PGA victory, "the new Best Player Never to Win Two Majors could well be either Steve Elkington or Davis Love III, who finished within one and two strokes behind Phil, respectively."

"Now I don't have to worry about all those questions anymore," said Mickelson, who also won the Masters in 2004. "The pressure's finally off, and I don't have to worry about whether the second major will ever happen. I can just work on being a better golfer. That, and maybe getting rid of the man boobs."
