DURHAM, NC - NASCAR fan Nick Liddel suggested to friends this week that, if he were to meet volatile driver Tony Stewart, he could probably "wipe that smirk off of [Stewart's] face." Stewart, who caused Jeff Gordon to wreck by intentionally bumping him during Sunday's MBNA RacePoints 400 in Dover, Delaware, later called Gordon a "whiner." "Yeah," Liddel told friends after the race, "let me get a hold of Tony Stewart, he'd be whining too."

"I certainly don't mean to whine," said Gordon after Stewart bumped him from behind, "but, since one of us NASCAR drivers dies in a wreck every few years, I guess it's fair to say I don't appreciate it when someone causes me to crash on purpose. And I would even mind that so much if Tony didn't smirk the whole time while he was doing it."

"He ain't that big a guy," Liddel said of Stewart. "I'm just sayin' that if I had to wipe the smirk off his face, I'd like my chances. Seein' as how it wouldn't be like I'd have to pin him, or knock him out, or anything like that. As soon as the smirk got wiped off his face, I'd just go ahead and consider that 'mission accomplished.'"

Stewart responded to Liddel's assertion that he could wipe the smirk off of his face by smirking even harder.
